Mexico Chiapas HG Washed - Organic
COUNTRY: Mexico
Coffee production in the country is mainly located in the south central to southern regions of the country. The history of this industry has been volatile. However, producers have worked hard to overcome many difficulties and there is now a renewed interest in Mexican Coffee. Coffee from Chiapas specifically is said to rival Guatemalan coffee’s complexity and power.
REGION: Unión Juárez, Chiapas
This coffee has a beautiful story that takes place in Finca San Carlos, which is located between Mexico and Guatemala on the border. More specifically Unión Juárez is located on the western slope of Volcán Tacaná which has a rich heritage dating back to 1896. Interesting to note is that Volcano Tacana is the second highest peak in Central America, reaching 4,060 meters. This high elevation contributes immensely to this superb high grown coffee.
